This week, Babe and Bug are lighting up the lab with a sweet twist — Glowing Candy Fireworks!
It’s part chemistry, part candy magic, and 100% awesome. Watch your favorite treats fizz, bubble, and glow like mini fireworks in a jar!
🧠 What You’ll Need:
- 1 large clear glass jar or vase
- 2–3 cups warm water
- 4–5 Jolly Rancher candies (different colors)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup vinegar
- 1 packet of Pop Rocks (optional, for extra crackle!)
- Glow sticks (activated, taped around or under the jar)
- Cotton candy or marshmallows (optional)
- Glitter or edible shimmer dust (optional)
🍬 Let’s Make Glowing Candy Fireworks!
Step 1: Fill and Dissolve
Pour warm water into your jar and drop in the Jolly Ranchers. Watch as they slowly dissolve and swirl together into a rainbow of colors!
Step 2: Glow Up the Jar!
Snap a few glow sticks to activate them. Tape them around or place them under your jar to create that glowing, magical base.
Step 3: Science Time!
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of baking soda into your colorful liquid.
Step 4: The Big Boom!
Now pour in your vinegar sloooowly — and get ready! The mixture will fizz, foam, and bubble up like bright, glowing fireworks!
Step 5: Add Some Sparkle!
For the grand finale, sprinkle in some glitter or shimmer dust and toss in Pop Rocks for that pop-pop-pop! crackle effect. 🎆
