✨ What You’ll Need
Crystal Mix
• 1 cup very hot water (just below boiling — grown-up help needed)
• 3 tablespoons borax powder
• Pink food coloring

Soft blush pink → 1–2 drops
Bright candy pink → 3–4 drops
Supplies
• Pink pipe cleaner
• White ceramic plate
• Small heat-safe bowl or measuring cup
• Spoon
• Optional: skewer, pencil, or chopstick (for support)
💗 Let’s Make a Crystal Heart
1️⃣ Shape the Heart
Bend the pipe cleaner into a heart.
Twist the ends together to make a small stem.
Stand it upright in the center of the plate.
(If it’s wobbly, a tiny bit of tape or support helps.)
2️⃣ Mix the Crystal Solution
Pour very hot water into your bowl.
Slowly stir in the borax until it fully dissolves.
Keep stirring until the water looks clear — no powder left.
Add pink food coloring and stir gently.

3️⃣ Pour & Watch
Carefully pour the hot solution onto the plate.
Add just enough to cover the base of the stem.
Do not submerge the heart — crystals climb upward!
4️⃣ Let the Science Happen
Place the plate somewhere warm and still.
