🧠 What You’ll Need:
- Clear plastic bottle or jar (with lid)
- Water
- Vegetable oil (enough to fill most of the bottle)
- Food coloring (orange, green, purple, or black)
- Glitter or sequins ✨
- Halloween trinkets (tiny ghosts, spiders, bats, pumpkins)
- Alka-Seltzer tablets (for bubbling magic)
- Tray or towel (for easy cleanup)
🔬 Step-by-Step Spooky Science
Step 1: Fill Your Bottle
Pour water into your bottle until it’s about one-third full. Add a few drops of spooky food coloring and stir!
Step 2: Add the Oil
Slowly pour in vegetable oil until the bottle is almost full. Watch as the oil floats on top of the water — that’s science in action!
Step 3: Add Sparkle + Spooks
Sprinkle in glitter, sequins, or small Halloween trinkets like tiny spiders or ghosts.
Step 4: Create the Lava Effect!
Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into smaller pieces and drop one piece into the bottle.
Watch the bubbles rise and fall like haunted lava!
Step 5: Repeat the Magic!
Once the fizzing stops, drop in another piece to start the bubbling show again!
